‘Kelileh & Demneh’ to compete at JUNIORFEST in Czech Republic

‘Kelileh & Demneh’ is to be screened at JUNIORFEST in the Czech Republic.

Iran animation ‘Kelileh & Demneh’ has been scheduled to go on the silver screen at the 9th edition of the International Film Festival for Children and Youth JUNIORFEST in Czech Republic.

Directed by Alireza Tavakoli Bina and produced by Zahra Hashemi, the Iranian animation ‘Kelileh & Demneh’ is to attend the competition section of the event.

The animation has so far received the Special Jury Award at the Children’s Fest section of the Eurasia International Film Festival in Kazakhstan, 2017.

Kelileh and Demneh are two young jackals caught up during the middle of a rainy night. Meanwhile, a horrified owl pays a visit to the king of the jungle to report about the excessive hunting he had witnessed.

‘Kelileh & Demneh’ is the Persian version of ‘The Panchatantra’, which is a Sanskrit ancient Indian collection of interrelated animal fables in verse and prose, arranged within a frame story.

Founded in 2006, the International Film Festival for Children and Youth JUNIORFEST managed to build a very successful film festival which annually attracted tens of thousands of spectators from around the world.
